Disowned

Chapter 16

Kenny

The following day after school, I lingered in the hallway. I browsed the photo gallery in my phone and stopped to stare at one particular picture where Javier was posing without a shirt.

I love those abs. I zoomed in on the picture and admired the perfect light brown skin, straight row of white teeth and deep dark eyes. One more look at his abs and I had put push my hand into my pocket to adjust myself.

I had taken the picture the previous day, just before he had pulled his jeans down and revealed the monster between his legs. The boy was big indeed, not that I had seen many to compare. Besides, it was shallow to focus on such things. Admittedly it was a nice bonus, but it was not the reason I wanted to be with him.

I leaned against the wall with a gently smile on my face and an inevitable erection in my jeans. Football practice would end in fifteen minutes. Then we would drive to his house and do something in his bedroom that my mom would never approve of. I had told her I was spending the evening with Chris, just like she had suggested.

Sighing heavily, I looked out through the big glass doors. More than ever before, the decision I had made felt right. If mom didn't approve of Javier, I would cut ties with her and never talk to her again. I hoped she wouldn't force me to choose between her and him, because he would win every time.

One more year, I reminded myself, for the thousandth time.

Soon, it was ten minutes to five, time to head to the football field. I walked out of the back door and saw dark clouds in the sky. It wasn't raining yet, but definitely would at any minute. Hopefully, he wouldn't spend too much time showering with his teammates. I imagined a group of sweaty jocks naked in the shower room and realized that sports had it's benefits.

"Waiting for Chris again?" came a voice behind me.

I froze. I would have recognized that arrogant dragging tone even in my sleep. What the hell was Joshua doing here? Had he followed me? Reluctantly, I turned around and pretended I was pleased to see the idiot.

"That's the plan," I said.

"Sounds fun," he said. "I have two movie tickets and was wondering if Javier wants to go with me."

"I don't think so."

The expression on his face didn't change. He walked up to me and wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

"Doesn't he like me?" he asked.

"I didn't mean to be rude," I said quickly. "He's just… busy today or something."

"Maybe I'll still ask him. Their practice finishes soon, right?"

The discussion was going in a totally wrong direction. I rubbed my jaw and tried to figure out what to do. I didn't want him to know about us, but I certainly didn't want to stand Javier up again. Plus, the idea of Joshua seeing a movie with my boyfriend didn't please me.

"Actually, he has plans with me," I blurted out.

"Oh, sorry, man," he said. "I didn't realize you're dating."

"We're not. He's just my friend."

The smirk on his face grew wider when he moved to stand in front of me, resting his hands on my shoulders. For a moment, he studied my face, and suddenly he pushed me so that I almost fell down.

"Let's cut this crap," he said. "I know you've had your fun with him. He told me."

"He… he did what?" I asked.

I didn't know what else to say. I just stared at him as he moved closer. Instinctively I took a few steps back and glanced around to see if there were other people around. To my disappointment, we were alone.

"Oh, poor Kenny," he said in a mocking tone. "Did you really think it was a secret?"

"You know nothing about Javier and me."

I raised my head and tried to look bigger than I was.

He came so close that we could have kissed. This time, I didn't budge. Not that I wanted to kiss the boy, but this was a battle I wasn't ready to give up. I stared him in the eyes and could smell his breath, which was annoyingly fresh.

"You seriously think you're good enough for him?" he said.

"Better than you."

He laughed.

"Come on, don't fool yourself."

"He loves me."

For a moment, I thought I had managed to hit the final nail in the coffin after all. The pleasurable feeling of beating the jock filled my body. Too soon, it was replaced by pain when he grabbed my arms and squeezed them with his strong fingers.

"It's time for you to forget Javier and get back to your studies, nerd boy."

He strengthened his grip on me.

"Never."

I glared at him.

"Or I will have a very interesting discussion with your dear mom," he said, releasing me.

I stood there, speechless. A heavy cloak of desperation was dropped on my shoulders. Hopelessly, I watched as he began walking toward the football field, while my feet were firmly stuck on the ground.

He glanced over his shoulder.

"We never had this discussion."

There were few things in my life I wished more than for that to be true.
