[A tale in 32 chapters, a prelude and a pair of epilogues]
While this tale steps outside the site's declared niche, thus may give some readers pause for thought, it was first encountered in its midsection which is entirely congruent with the niche. John Teller has woven a substantially larger tale around that midsection. We had first considered just publishing that part, and spoke to John at length about that idea, but it would have been incomplete.
This tale brings together several generations of a complex and loving family. There is happiness here, and, among the happiness, sadness. Above all there is love.
