Knots, Book 1

Chapter 4
Andy
Matt looked pissed when I rode up late for our mowing job, but seemed to understand once I explained it to him. There was this big tangle of knots I tied when the hitch broke. I got so frustrated when I tried to untie it, that I just cut the rope which was kind of stupid because I didn't have any rope to tie it back up. Yeah, it's those damn knots again. Fortunately, the Hemsteads were glad to give me some rope.
I took off my shirt before we started one engine, even though it was still a little chilly. I hoped it would encourage Matt to do the same, but he didn't. I like looking at his bod. . It's funny when I think back on it now. I was the one with the awesome looking muscles because I was a little on the skinny side which made my six pack abs, pecs, and arms show a lot of definition. My legs were scrawny. But Matt had it all except for the six pack abs. But he had that beautiful flat stomach and broad chest that made me look weak by comparison.
Matt finally took his shirt off when it got hotter, and we were both sweating hard by time we were done. I wanted to rub my hand up and down his stomach and chest. He caught me looking at him a couple times. But I gave him the usual smile, and he smiled back. I don't know what he was thinking. I expected my dick to get hard, but I only felt a small stir in my shorts.
Anyway, Gina Lockhart and Emily Cooper came by and caught us with our shirts off. Emily wanted to touch my sweaty chest, and who was I to stop her. She touched me and I can't explain what I felt. But my dick seemed to know because I felt it stir again. God, life is confusing. Do I like boys or girls? Boys I think. Not sure. Life was so much simpler before puberty.
I thought Gina was going to put her hand on my chest too, but she wanted to touch Matt. She put her hand on his chest and he looked like he was going to faint. I was a little jealous of Gina.
We made some small talk and they invited us to meet them at the Mall. I don't know if Matt remembers, but after the girls left I put my hand on his chest and in a sweet voice said, "Oh, your chest is so awesome. It's so cold. I wish I could rub it up and down all day," and with that I rubbed my hand up and down from chest to belly button. Matt knocked my hand away. My dick began to come to attention.
Gina and Emily
Gina and Emily looked back once and waved as they left Andy and Matt. The boys waved, then gathered up their equipment. Andy got rope from the Hemsteads and tried to tie what looked like a reasonable knot, but it was just as much a mess as the previous one.
Emily poked Gina lightly in the shoulder. "Wasn't that cool, touching their chests? I've never done that before. Always wondered what it'd feel like."
"You're braver than me. I'd have never done it if you hadn't touched Andy."
Emily stopped and got in close to Gina and said, "What I really wanted to do was run my hand up and down Andy's chest and abs. He has hot abs and a fine chest. I can just imagine those muscles under my hand. I think the guys call it a six-pack. Wouldn't that have been the coolest?"
"Maybe, but I don't think that would be a good idea. It might get them all worked up or something. Boys don't like girls who tease them and run off."
"Like you're a woman of the world and know all about that stuff. They would have probably blushed from ear to ear and stepped back."
Gina stopped. "And if they didn't pull away? What then. We going to make out and have sex on the Hemstead's front yard?"
Emily shrugged. "Who's talking about sex? It was just innocent flirting. That's all."
"They're guys. They don't see things the same way we do."
"Come on. A little flirting never hurt, and like I said, Andy's hot."
"Looks pretty skinny to me," Gina said. Matt, on the other hand, has the perfect build. Not fat and not skinny. I kind of like him. Plus he's shy and I like that too. Andy thinks he's pretty cool and is kind of stuck on himself."
Emily started walking again. "That's what I like about Andy. He's confident. Matt always seems a little afraid. I suppose Andy could use a little more weight. But he's still fine."
"They're best friends. Matt's confident too, but his shyness keeps him from showing it."
"Gina, shyness comes from lack of confidence. I want a take charge kind of guy."
"Good, you can have Andy. I'll take Matt."
Emily stopped this time and grabbed Gina by the shoulders. "Fine with me. You sit with Matt and I'll sit with Andy if they come to the Mall."
"What's wrong? Don't you think we wooed them enough with our female charms to make sure they show up?"
"Guys are more fickle than girls. You never know what they're going to do."
Gina grinned. "Well, I think touching their sweaty chests was probably as good a magnet as any to get them to meet us at the mall. I'll bet you a buck they show."
Emily, stuck out her hand. "You're on. Of course I think you're right, but a wager puts a little excitement into it.
Matt
I put my shirt on and looked over at Andy. "Are we going to the mall?"
"What do you mean, are we going to the mall? Damn straight we are. Those girls are hot for our bods."
"And that's based on the fact they touched our sweaty chests?"
Andy grabbed his shirt and tucked it in the back of his pants. "Something like that. Didn't that feel cool? I never felt anything like that before."
"Me neither, but I was a little embarrassed."
Andy grabbed his shirt and rubbed it in my face. "Smell that. They want some of that."
"You mean they want your sweaty t-shirt. I'm hoping one of them wants me."
I'll have to admit, I loved Andy's smell, but there wasn't any way I was going to tell him.
Andy put his shirt back in the small of his back. "You know what I mean. They want some of this." He ran the tips of his fingers from his head to his dick. "They can't help it."
"You're so full of crap," I said as I admired his body and thought he was right.
Andy got on his bike. "Meet you at your place in 40 minutes. Don't dress like a dork. We got to make a good impression."
"If the only way you think you can impress them is to have your shirt off, what are you going to do? They require shirts in the mall."
"You're just jealous. I'm pretty fine with all my clothes on too."
I had to admit, he was right. His family had a little more money than mine, and he was always sharply dressed. He often told me how to dress, and when I could, went with him to the mall so he could help me pick out a few things. He did a lot to make an average guy look above average.
Gina and Emily
Gina and Emily were walking the mall window shopping when Emily said, "They're never going to find us. We didn't tell them where to meet us."
"They're boys. They'll find us. Don't worry."
"If they don't, then I win the bet."
"Yeah, you win the bet."
Matt and Andy
Matt and Andy were back at the Hemsteads' when Andy had the same revelation as Emily. "How are we going to find them?"
"Hell if I know all wise and clever woman magnet. Maybe they'll be attracted to the smell of your body."
"This is serious," Andy said. "What are we going to do?"
Matt rubbed his chin. "It's good to see that you look to me for guidance in these matters."
"Well, I have the body and you have the mind."
Matt grabbed Andy by the arm. "I could kick your skinny ass all over this yard. Keep that in mind all wonderful and beautiful one."
Andy got a pissed look. "Knock that skinny shit off. I was just talking. I see you looking at me all the time. I know you're jealous. You might even have a crush on me."
Matt shoved Andy. "You're so full of shit. Crush on you? That'll be the day. You're always looking at me."
"Okay. Okay. Sorry. You don't have to get so pissed."
Matt calmed and forced a smile. "Okay, I admit it. I do look at you some time. But I don't have a crush on you, and that was a mean thing to say to your best friend."
"Then don't call me skinny. It bothers me enough already. Sometimes a guy has to take what he's got and use it to his advantage. That's all I'm doing."
"Maybe you're right. Sometimes I'm a little jealous of that skinny body of yours."
Andy laughed. "I don't blame you. It's pretty hot."
They walked to the fountain which sat in the middle of the mall scanning for the girls. Andy pointed and started walking. "Matt, there they are,"
"Hey ladies," Andy said. "Looking for us?"
Emily turned like she didn't hear him. "Gina, did you hear something?"
"Kinda. Sounded like a couple 14 year old boys?"
Emily turned to Andy. "Naw, we're waiting on a couple juniors from the football team."
"Too bad huh Matt. We were looking for those two girls who had their hands all over us, and I guess we're not going to find them. We'd better look somewhere else." Andy started off as Emily came up and grabbed him by the back pocket of his jeans. "Maybe you are the guys. Let's have a look." She spun Andy around and said, "Gina, I think we made a mistake. This is them. They look different with their clothes on."
"You're right Emily. They looked a little sticky and smelly earlier."
"Yeah, but they were fine young men." Emily said as she grabbed Andy's arm and said, "I'll take this one."
Matt looked at Gina. They both shrugged and walked behind Emily and Andy until Andy stopped. "How 'bout some pizza?"
They all nodded and they were off to Rocky's Pizza.
Andy and Matt stood back to let Emily and Gina into the booth.
Just as they sat, Ernest Bowline, came up to them. "My families here for pizza too. I saw you guys over here and thought I'd say hello."
Ernie weighed about 230 pounds and didn't play any sports. He had zits on his face and was generally thought of as a nerd. But it didn't keep him from coming over to say hi.
Matt stuck out his hand. "Hi Ernie. Nice to see you."
"Yeah, nice to see you," Andy said.
The girls nodded and smiled at him. Then there was silence. Ernie waited for someone to say something and the others waited for him to say something, but no one did until finally Ernie said, "Nice talking to you. See you when school starts."
"Yeah, see you when school starts," Gina said as they all waved.
"What a nerd," Emily said. "He had a lot of nerve coming over and saying hi."
Matt gave Emily a stare. "He's a nice guy. Maybe not the coolest, but at least he tried to be friendly."
"Who cares," Andy said.
"Easy for you to say," Gina put in. "You have a girl on your arm and he's having pizza with his parents. You've been blessed with good looks and a fair body, maybe you should be more sensitive."
"What do you mean a fair body?"
"You could use a little more weight on those bones."
Matt thought all hell was going to break loose. But all Andy said was "You may be right. I was being an ass."
Gina nudged Matt. "Let's go over and say hello to his family."
Emily whispered in a tight voice. "Are you crazy?"
"No, let's do it."
Gina nudged Matt again, and he moved out of the booth. Andy and Emily followed as Gina led them over to meet Ernie Bowline's family.
Ernie beamed as he saw them heading over. Matt surprised himself when he managed to introduce them all by name to Ernie's parents. The parents thanked them for coming over. They made small talk and then headed back to their table.
"Now didn't that make all of you feel better," Gina asked.
Andy rubbed his eyes. "Brings tears to my eyes."
"Knock the crap off Andy," Matt said. "Gina was right. I know I feel better."
"As much as I hate to admit it, I do to," Emily added.
"Okay all you bleeding hearts, I guess I feel better too," Andy said, "That was a pretty cool thing to do Gina."
"Yeah Gina," Matt said. "You have more courage than the rest of us."
Gina leaned into the middle of the table. Everyone else leaned in too. "It's simple. Just do the right thing. You all knew it was right."
Matt nudged Gina. "Yeah, maybe, but we followed you because you had the courage to lead us knar-do-wells over there. I think I might be in love."
Gina nudged back. "Don't go overboard. I just did the right thing."
They had pizza, talked about being freshman and the lowest of the low at Edison High. The guys paid for the pizza with their hard earned lawn money and walked the girls to Gina's. Andy and Matt stood at the door fidgeting until the girls kissed them on the cheek and said, "We had a great time."
