Square on
At nineteen you could afford to be open
And taunting beside a pool, brown and naked.
So when you came in out of the autumn rain wearing
That black woolen coat from the op shop,
And your nuzzled body smelt of damp cloth
I smiled and we embraced within your eyes fringed
By mercurial wet droplets that said, 'I came straight over.
The text said U needed some 1 to hold.' And I did.
Discarding the coat, in the open French doors
That framed the shadow of two across the concrete.
Warm wet lips and fingers touched the corridors of intimacy,
And I knew again, my bed at Marlborough House would be
The wet touch stone of your extended splendor,
Spooning my arse that term before summer.
