I want to wake up and feel my life,
To breathe the air, realize my true self.
Find my home within my soul
But not a sanctuary, an open door.
A welcome place for all to enter
Free of preconceived notions,
Free of societal prejudices,
Free of the question of what a person is.
Who am I to question myself?
I don't know me better than you know me.
It's a sad day in the life of an extrovert
When his face betrays his emotions.
An ever sadder day it is,
When an extrovert's friends have never come to know him.
Friends, all equal and free of the knowledge
Of what it is to fear one's self image.
How can I feel so poorly,
And yet, how can I be so happy?
Simply an illusion, a failsafe against pain.
The day I know who I am, the day I am me,
Is the day I can be happy, without illusion.
