Three Haiku upon reading Across the Nightingale Floor
You are the heron,
I am the fish in your grasp.
The torrent rushes.
Wind stirs the cedars.
Your shadow, pulled by the moon,
Leaves my heart behind.
Black crows on snow crust,
Ruffled against freezing rain.
I mourn your absence.
